UAIMS being a Tertiary Care Center, world-class Critical Care is available in a perfectly planned ICU spread over the entire floor. The UAIMS critical care bed strength exceeds 100, split into 10 different ICUs.

  • 1 Medical ICU- dedicated to Multiorgan Dysfunction support.
  • 1 Medical ICU- dedicated to Infectious Diseases.
  • 2 Medical ICUs- dedicated to General ICU requirements and Hemodialysis.
  • 1 High Dependency Unit.
  • 1 Surgical ICU- dedicated to POST OPERATIVE care after major and supra major surgeries like Cardiac Bypass.
  • 1 Casualty ICU or Emergency dept ICU
  • 2 NICUs- 10 bedded each for the care of sick NEWBORN.
  • 1 PICU- For Pediatric critical care.

The CRITICAL CARE TEAM l consists of round the clock availability of INTENSIVISTS, Physicians and Anesthetists.

The nursing staff involved is well trained in Critical Care and the ratio of BEDS to NURSING STAFF is high to maintain high quality.

The patient management is as per STANDARD NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROTOCOLS.

All the EQUIPMENT like MONITORS, VENTILATORS, CENTRAL OXYGEN AND SUCTION etc are HIGH END and from INTERNATIONAL BRANDS like DRAGER AND PHILIPS.

Besides above all the ICUs are AIR CONDITIONED with separate AIR HANDLING UNITS for each ICU. This is most important to keep infections away.

Good staying facilities for relatives are provided.

PATIENT FOOD as per the CASE is provided by the HOSPITAL.

Emergency Medicine (Urgent Care) :- Time & Accurate treatment, matters the most in case of Emergency. UAIMS has a dedicated Emergency Medicine Department with separate Entrance, providing Quick & Easy access to the Casualty Triage area. The Emergency department is well planned with 3 Triage Beds, 5 Beds Casualty ICU, 8 Beds Casualty Recovery and a Dedicated Casualty Operation Theatre. Qualified CMOs are available 24 ×7, with a backup of Trauma care unit, Intesivists and Code Blue team to handle all kinds of emergencies. Availability of Radiology and Laboratory services round the clock, play a important role in rapid diagnosis and proper treatment to save many valuable lives.
